AZEK Building Products - AZEK unstable
Please beware of AZEK decking Products. When installed on 16 inch centers the deck flexes and bounces when walked on.
This is with their special hidden fasteners which have a give of about 1/8 inch. The company (after the fact) now states that the installation needs to be on 12 inch centers. They do NOT stand behind their product or installation requirements. We are now involved in a class action suit and out thousands of dollars for an inferior product.
We have had countless representatives from the company that admit that the deck "bounces" but offer no solution to fix it.
They offered us a measly $200 not to write or say anything negative about the product. We obviously refused.
Reason of review: Return, Exchange or Cancellation Policy.
Monetary Loss: $4000.
Preferred solution: Let the company propose a solution.
AZEK Building Products Cons: Quality of product.

Iโm presently having a new Azek deck built, the deck perimeter board is on and the first row of deck surface boards are starting to be installed, my framing is brand new 2x10 and is 16โ on center exactly as the installation instructions recommend. Already I can see the deck boards sagging between the 16โ on center joists and when you walk on it, itโs even worse.
This is 100% recycled plastic and is absolute junk, I have over $17000 invested in recycled plastic garbage, DO NOT BUY AZEK recycled plastic. So dissatisfied and no response from Azek regarding this structural sagging issue.
Iโm having issues also approximately $15,000 of Horrible service and product can you share more about this lawsuit?
I have had similar issues to yours as well as others with multiple Azek decks my company has installed over the course of the previous year. I have experienced similar treatment by Azek and their representatives when contacting them about these concerns.
Comments from Azeksโ field reps where almost identical to what you experienced in terms of joist spacing etc.
I would be interested in knowing more about the class action lawsuit you are involved in and what legal firm you are working with. These issues have caused me a significant loss of time, money, and reputation.
I'm having the same problem.
